"I hope to see a bit of the world through their eyes and help them explore new skills in a very non-Las Vegas environment! I believe I will be a better coach and teacher based on my experiences with them."

"Working with the kids of SOI is the joy of my week. Seeing the kids smile because they are enjoying what they are doing just makes me feel like I have purpose. My favorite part of SOI is getting to share my love of skating with the wonderful kids that I get to work with".

"The combination of teaching children with special needs and ice skating, could not be more perfect for me... It is amazing to watch the children grow as ice skaters. Teaching them how to ice skate is rewarding and watching their proud faces when they are able to ice skate independently is priceless."

"I cannot say I know what it’s like to have a child with special needs, because I don’t. I can tell you what it’s like to have your own disability and how you don’t stop reaching for your goals no matter what. I do not let my disability define who I am, my disability is part of me, it is who I am.

I am a parent. I have my own biological child and consider many others my kids also. I have worked with individuals with special needs for many years, in many settings, and many ages elementary to senior citizen. They are all my kids, past and present. They will always be my kids. They are part of me, they make me who I am."

"My favorite part is watching the parents' faces. They always look so proud of their kids. I also think it's awesome that parents get a bit of a "break" while their kids have sooooo much fun."
